My Response to Hey! You Can't Wear That!

In a blog of 300 words, please respond to the following questions:
1. How do you feel about Michael Jeffries’ view on who should wear Abercrombie and Fitch’s  clothing?
2. Is it fair/equitable to target a particular group of teens?  Why or why not?
3. How does this contribute to our already biased perception of what beauty is?

My Response to Ms. Powell's -  Hey! You Can't Wear That!

1. I feel that it is very offending to the young people who are big because it doesn't matter what someone looks in general. I find him very disrespecting and exclusionary to the people who are big because also, every person has a right to wear what ever clothing they want to stand out or be be themselves.

2. It is not fair to target "popular" teens because everyone should have the right to where what clothing they want to wear and it shouldn't matter who wears it.

3. This contribution to our how biased perception of beauty. Beauty is meant to be what's on the inside but apparently to Abercrombie and Fitch, beauty is when you are slim and have flawless skin. Beauty should e who you are and not about the physical appearance but your personality or the person on the inside.

My Response to On a Tweet and a Prayer...

In a blog of 300 words, please respond to the following questions:
1) Do you think that having twitter accounts will help attract youth to take a greater role in the life of the Church?
2) What are the benefits of having our Church leader tweet?  Are there any disadvantages?
3) Does your parish take part in the social media world?  If so, please explain.
4)  Are there any other ways that the Church can encourage our youth to get more involved?  Do you have any personal experiences related to this?

My Response to Ms. Powell's -  On a Tweet and a Prayer...
1. Yes I think having a twitter account would help attract youth to take a greater role in the life of the church because this gives the chance for teenagers to spread the word if you see the Pope for example tweet something important. Youth today can spread it easily and more people would learn about the Church's catholic faith.

2. The benefit from having our Church leader tweet is connect to the people of the world by connecting in a unique and different way. Another benefit is that if there was a very urgent message that needed to be spread immediately can be told very quickly. The disadvantages to have our Church leader tweet is that some people may think that the church leader would be very foolish to tweet to ocmmunicate to the people and possibly think otherwise to them.

3.  No, my parish doesn't take part in the social media world because it would seem that they are sticking to the old fashion of way to communicating to the people which is by talking to them during mass and spreading the word using advertisements.

4. I think some of the other ways that the Church could encourage our youth to get more involved bu doing an exciting contest or  tell some exiting events they could volunteer for like making money for churches by having a movie night for example.

My Response to Social Media – The Good, The Bad and the 'Not-So-Private'

In a blog of 300 words, reply to the following questions.
Questions:
1) Are you a member of a social networking website?  Why or why not?
2) Have you checked your privacy settings lately?  Who can see the information that you put out there?
3) What kind of information are you allowing others to have access to?  Have you thought about this before?
4) What kinds of things are safe to post?  Unsafe?  List some unsafe information that you should keep to yourself and not allow others to see online.
5) How can we become more responsible users of social network websites?  Why is this so important?

My Response to Ms. Powell's - Social Media – The Good, The Bad and the 'Not-So-Private'
1. Yes I am a member for social networking website. The reason i use these social networking websites is because i only want to know updates about videos on youtube for example and shows like how i met your mother, otherwise, i don't really use the social networking website.

2. Yes i have checked my privacy settings lately because i like to check my account every once in a while to see if thees any new updates i haven't seen yet or anything that would catch my eye or intrigue me.
I make sure only my friends and me can see them. No one else can see them otherwise.

3. In general, i don't post personal information because i don't want people invading my privacy or stalking me and I'm scared if someone knew all the important information others aren't supposed to know about. I have honestly thought about this every once in a while because sometimes i forget who will see this but i eventually remember every once in a while to be aware of your surroundings from the online predators. My mom taught me that so I can be safe.

4. The things that are safe to post are the things you like what you like and some things you are doing but never post your location, birth, your number or your pictures because people can steal you picture and use that picture to pretend to be you for example when it isn't. Be careful what you post and be aware of who sees what you post.

5. You can become more responsible when you are on social networking website by changing the privacy settings like make sure only your friends, family, and you can see it but no strangers can see it so no one can stalk you for example. This is very important that you are responsible of who sees your posts because some could stalk you or worse, find where you are from the posts you post. Its very scary and creepy that someone could steal who you are.

My Response to Twitter Trouble

In a blog of 300 words, respond to the following questions:
1) Do you think that Khadijah’s comments about her teacher, that he “lives at home with his mom, eats fish sticks for dinner, and all he talks about is Star Wars” were appropriate?  Explain.

2) What is your opinion on the suspension of these students?  Was it reasonable for the school board to enforce such a punishment?  Why or why not?

3)  How do you feel about the reaction of the students – that they should be able to share their opinions freely?  Is it okay to post this sort of thing on social media websites like Twitter?

My Response to Ms. Powell's -  Twitter Trouble

1. I think that the comment Khadijah had made was inappropriate because that would insult that person and this is verbal abuse. This situation would seem to be like talking behind peoples back and i find that very disrespecting. Since Khadijah posted this post on twitter, this makes the situation worse and this would technically considered cyber bullying. No one deserves to be verbally abused and its hurts even though its a text. People should understand that its like their insulting the person in front of them except with twitter.

2.  My opinion of the suspension of these students were appropriate because they need to learn that posting mean thoughts or opinions on twitter is like cyberbullying and they need to understand that hurts even though they aren't saying it in person. I know the experience of verbal abuse and its not the greatest feeling. Its outrageous and makes you feel like something's wrong with you.  The posts are like verbal abuse except on the internet where everyone can see. It hurts and people need to understand that cyberbullying and disrespecting teachers are very bad.

3.  I would say in my point of view, about the reaction of the students – that they should be able to share their opinions freely was highly outrageous because the student need an excuse to be able to be a cyber bully and to get away from getting in trouble. The kids who got in trouble should have been charged because they would understand the consequences of verbally abusing people but that would be too harsh so they need suspension instead. I think that this cyber bullying is horrible and disgusts me how some students continue to do this. People shouldn't post inappropriate comments in general. It hurts people even though it may not seem like it.

My Response to - Paparazzi: Scandalous?

In a blog of 300 words, reply to the following question.
Questions:
1) Do you agree or disagree with the way celebrities are treated by the paparazzi?
2) How far is too far?
3) Why would the paparazzi use media networks to their advantage to post personal news about famous individuals?  Is this right?
Research Questions:
4) Research an appropriate paparazzi scandal that has occurred within the past few years.  Do you agree or disagree with the way the celebrity was treated?  Why or why not?
5) How would you feel if someone invaded your privacy (cell phone, laptop, etc)?  Explain.

My Response to Ms. Powell's - Paparazzi: Scandalous?
1. I disagree with the way celebrities are treated by the paparazzi because i find that, celebrities are also human beings like us except that they're famous. These celebrities don't deserve the invaded privacy and the paparazzi should have their right to complain about the paparazzi invading their personal privacy too much like britney spears. When she shaved her head bald, no one had to know but the media went to far and covered the story. Celebrities deserve more space and not get their privacy invaded

2. I think the what is too far when it comes to invading someones personal privacy is when you start to stalk a certain celebrity or follow them all the way to their homes and when you follow the celebrity into their homes to just see them or be with them.

3. The paparazzi would use media networks to their advantage to post personal news about famous individuals because this would be the chance to expose celebrities to who they really are and the people who reported would want to get the credit to be more well known.

4. The most recent scandal this year is the Justin Bieber scadal on March 8th 2013. The issue that had occurred was the he had a rough week, fainted and had to deal with some people insulting him just because he's popular. When he was rushing back to his SUV, there was a photographer insulting him and the caused Justin Bieber to be aggressive and retaliate back. This here is an example of verbal abuse and this gave the reporter to expose Justin bieber when he was just very tired and stressed that week. Justin Bieber isn't aggresive and this poor guy doesn't need more invaded privacy when he's really just stressed and tired.

5. My thoughts if someone invaded my privacy is very freaked out and not very happy because I wouldn't feel comfortable if someone really did invade my privacy and if they really wanted to know me then just go on my twitter for example and message me to get to know me kind of thing or person. We're all human beings and again, if you really wanted to get to know me, just come and talk to me because i love making new friends.

My Response to - Iphone Crazy... or not?

In a blog of 300 words, reply to the following questions.

1) Are you the type of person that wants/needs top of the line electronics? Why or why not?

2) How do you feel about Apple's Bank of material that will be released over time?

3) How do you think iphone might change in the years to come? What other applications/functions would you like to see incorporated into new versions?

My response to Ms. Powell's iphone crazy...or not?

1. No, i'm not really that type of person who really needs/wants these electronics because i know their ipods or ipads are meant for playing games but as a gamer, I prefer to play on consoles instead of buying an electronic i don't need. Their electronics may be portable but theirs so much games you can play on your time. I don't really need need or want their electronics. If i were to really get an ipod, I think i would just get a regular ipod because I listen to music on a daily basis to block out all the noise when it is noisy or when i want to be at peace with my own mind with the power of music.

2. My feelings about the Apple's Bank of material that will be released over time is repetitive because Apple seems to always be releasing the same electronic like the iphone 5 for example. That's just an updated version of the iphone 4 or 3 with a few adjustments.  I find that they need to make more new and original electronics. The way they should get new ideas or make new original electronics is ask what the people want. I find now a days,we can't find that  great or perfect electronic they want like in video games for example. Their aren't any good unique games out there that you would really want like with electronics.

3. I think the way the iphone will change in the years to come are that there will be no touch screen anymore. There may possibly be a hologram type touch screen where you can check our e-mails or watch videos for example with your voice or by pointing at the e-mail symbol for example. The iphone could possibly also change mankind and lead to changing technology of the future. There is a possibility that the iphone could turn into a portable ring you can wear and you press the apple button to open your menu filled with options and other applications like camera for example.
